While practicing for the contest, the two brothers cross paths with the young king of Korea. The king admires Young-sup's skill of flying a kite and asks the two brothers to make him one. Kee-sup who is a better artist than any one in the family comes up with many designs for the soon-to-be king's kite, but he can't find the right design! Then his father offers an idea and everybody agrees that it is perfect. Soon the kite is finished and the two brothers present the kite to the king. He loved the red and gold dragon kite. Then he told them he was thinking about entering the kite contest. But he said he would not for two reasons. One was because he wasn't very good yet. The second reason was because if he entered it, the other competitors would let him win because he was king. So he had Young-sup enter for him. In the end Young-sup reached his life long dream and won the contest!
These are some books that I've read, that I think are very good books for certain ages. You will see my age rating for these books.

The Kite Fighters by Linda Sue Park
The book The Kite Fighters takes place in Korea. It is about a boy named Young-sup Lee who loved to fly kites more than playing with any other toy or invention! He wanted nothing more than to win a kite contest. The New Year kite competition coming soon. Young-sup and his older brother Kee-sup enter it. The brothers are flying for first place despite the fact that hundreds of children are entering it. It is tradition that the elder heir must come in first and the younger in second.

Game Changers by Mike Lupica
In the book Game Changers by Mike Lupica the main characters are:
* Ben McBain--- An 11 year old that is a little small but has a big dream to play QB for his team, the Rockwell Rams.
* Shawn O'Brien--- The Rockwell Ram's Coach's son who doesn't want to disappoint his dad by telling him that he doesn't want to be the QB.
*Sam Brown--- Ben's friend , in their club the Core Four , and wide receiver for the Rockwell Rams.
*Coop Manley--- Ben's friend , in the Core Four , and the center for the Rockwell Rams.
* Lilly --- Ben's "Girlfriend" as Sam likes to say. Lilly can "see through " Ben's brain, and part of the Core Four.
*Coach O'Brien--- The coach of the Rockwell Rams who played in the NFL.
" Ben McBain , eleven years old and nowhere near five feet tall, had always thought of himself as a quarterback even though most grown-ups didn't see it that way. Mostly the grown-ups who had coached him in football so far. It was because they thought he was too small to play quarterback. He got that . He did. Got that he didn't look the part , didn't look like a quarterback to them, even the ones who had actually taken the time to notice the way he could throw a football before they told him he was going to play another position. Running back . Wide receiver . Kick returner . Just never quarterback."
- Game Changers by Mike Lupica
Ben changed throughout this book in an amazing way. At the beginning Ben was frustrated that season after season he wanted to be QB but he never got the role. He kept working harder and harder! Later on in the book Coach O'Brien realized that Ben had a knack for the role of the quarterback and offered him the "job". Ben was overwhelmed with joy so much that he played better than ever !

My Brother Sam is Dead by James and Christopher Collier
The book My Brother Sam is Dead is an intense book that takes place in the Revolutionary War. The main characters are :
* Timothy Meeker --- Tim as people call him , is Sam Meeker's younger brother who doesn't know if he is a Patriot or a Loyalist.
*Sam Meeker---Tim Meeker's older hot headed brother who ran away to the Patriot Army and stole his father's gun.
*Father Meeker---Tim and Sam Meeker's father who is a loyalist.
*Betsy Read--- Sam Meeker's girlfriend whose family along with herself are patriots.
*Tom Warrups--- A mysterious Native American boy but Tim does not know if he is a patriot or loyalist.
*Jerry Sandford---One of Tim's close friends who doesn't understand the whole " patriot/loyalist thing" , but guesses that he is a loyalist 'cause his family is.
In the start of the book Tim , Father, and Mother are at the dining room table ready to say their blessings and eat but then Sam bursts through the door gasping ,
"We beat them, those lobster backs ! Us and the Minutemen ! Those British redcoats were no match for us !!"
Father and Sam later had a little A and B conversation about disrespecting the king of England and his army. But late at night when everyone was asleep, Sam snuck in and stole the Brown Bess which is a gun named after Queen Elisabeth .
Now I'm pretty sure that any one reading this blog will want to know how Sam died , or if he died at all! Well to answer you, Sam does die. But if you want to find out how you'll just have to go to a bookstore or your nearest library and find out for yourself!
For ages 10 +
Violence, small amount of language , and some intense moments.
